How Printed.com improved their net-zero goals with Consultiv Utilities

The heart of their operations takes place in a 40,000 sq. ft. environmentally accredited state of the art facility, with a range of presses ideal for achieving high quality printing. While the group invests heavily in infrastructure, the team at Printed.com are also continually monitoring their carbon footprint. They wanted to make the most of their energy spending, cut costs and ultimately improve their net-zero goal. That’s where Consultiv Utilities stepped in.

Helping Printed.com prioritise sustainability

By developing a strong and innovative relationship with the team behind Printed.com, we were able to support the business’s energy buying strategy and help them to identify solutions to reduce their carbon footprint in the long run.

Extensive contract analysis and a proactive attitude towards the procurement process have helped Printed.com secure significant non-commodity savings to date. We were able to ensure the organisation received supplier rebates on supply contracts, reaching approximately £9,000. In addition, (at point of contract renewal) Consultiv prevented the group paying higher costs brought on via the energy crisis based on current market conditions. The additional outlay is estimated to be approx. £60k per annum.

As an energy intensive organisation, Printed.com’s energy budgets are particularly complex, and require a lot of attention. We were able to make sense of their energy spending through our robust supplier network. By focusing on sustainability as a goal, we were able to improve the group’s net-zero ambitions and move their supply contracts to a 100% renewably sourced product.

We recommended several courses of action to Printed.com, including to increase the LED lighting on site, review feasibility for Solar PV benefit, and to install additional sensors to promote a better ambient temperature for employees.
